Health Care and Insurance
A Registered Nurse or Health Assistant is on site to address the health and safety concerns of each camper and distribute all medications.
PLEASE NOTE: Individual family insurance policies apply first for all camper medical needs. Trout Creek carries an accident policy that provides secondary coverage, only when necessary.
Please send prescription and essential, non-prescription medications only. They must be checked in with the camp medical personnel at the check-in table on opening day. All medications require:
- Original container (no baggies, plastic containers, pill boxes, etc.).
- Specific written instructions including name, amount, time, and reason for dispensing.
- Parent’s signature authorizing administration by camp personnel.
- Correct label including right name, time, and dosage for prescription medications.
Incidental over-the-counter medications such as pain relievers, cold medications, allergy medications, etc. are supplied as needed by the camp medical personnel according to the standing orders of the camp physician.
PLEASE NOTE: Non-essential non-prescription medications will not be accepted (i.e. vitamins, fluoride, herbal medications).
Cabin Assignments
The Camp does not pre-assign campers to cabin groups. Cabin assignments are made on the first day of camp following the Opening Program. At that time, campers will have the opportunity to choose at least one friend to be placed in the same cabin with.

Spending money can be used in our Camp Store which offers camp shirts, sweatshirts, souvenirs, cameras, insect repellent, stamps, stationery, and personal items. Money can also be used to buy afternoon refreshments in the Snak Shak and crafts in the Craft Room. Additional fees are also charged for Rocket Club ($7-14), Paintball ($5), and Go Kart Rides($5) if a camper desires to participate in those activities.
What Not To Bring
Please leave all electronic gadgets, cell phones, and iPods at home – we provide all the music, entertainment and phones to use in case of emergency.
