Transportation To and From Camp

Transportation is available to and from Trout Creek for $7 each way, payable with registration. Please indicate your interest on the registration form. Campers should arrive at the Central Bible Church parking lot, located at 8815 NE Glisan, Portland, OR, at 8:30a.m. on the the opening day of their session. Departure will be at 9a.m. On the closing day of each camp session, campers will return at approximately 10:30a.m.

PLEASE NOTE: Transportation to and from Trout Creek is not available for Primary Camp or Rock n' Raft. Transportation to and from the river is provided by Trout Creek once you have arrived at camp. Please refer to "Rock n' Raft" below for specific information concerning this camp.

Opening and Closing Days

On the Opening Day of each camp session, campers should be at Trout Creek Bible Camp between 9:30 and 10a.m.

The Opening Program begins at 10a.m., with cabin assignments to follow.

On the Closing Day of each camp session, campers should be picked up between 9a.m. and 10a.m. Parents are invited to attend a brief closing program at 9a.m. in the Chapel.

PLEASE NOTE: The opening and closing times are different for Rock n' Raft. Please refer to "Rock n' Raft" below for specific information concerning this camp.

NO PETS are allowed on opening or closing days.

Health Care and Insurance

A Registered Nurse or health assistant is on site to address the health and safety concerns of each camper and distribute all medications.

PLEASE NOTE: Individual family insurance policies apply first for all camper medical needs. Trout Creek carries an accident policy that provides secondary coverage only when necessary.

Please send prescription and essential non-prescription medications only. They must be checked in with the Camp medical personnel at the check-in table on opening day. All medications require:

  • Original container (no baggies, plastic containers, pill boxes, etc.).
  • Specific written instructions including name, amount, time, and reason for dispensing.
  • Parent’s signature authorizing administration by camp personnel.
  • Correct label including right name, time, and dosage for prescription medications.

Incidental over-the-counter medications such as pain relievers, cold medications, allergy medications, etc. are supplied as needed by the Camp medical personnel according to the standing orders of the Camp Physician.

PLEASE NOTE: Non-essential non-prescription medications will not be accepted (i.e. vitamins, fluoride, herbal medications).

Cabin Assignments

Cabin assignments are made shortly after 10a.m. on Opening Day. At that time, each camper will have the opportunity to be placed in the same cabin with at least one friend. Campers who arrive late will not have this opportunity.

Sending Mail to a Camper

You may send mail to a camper at this address:

Mail received for a camper whose session has concluded will be returned to sender.

Visiting a Camper

Visits during camping sessions are discouraged and must be cleared through the Camp Office prior to your arrival.

Please leave CD players, gameboys, cell phones, mp3 players, etc. at home - we provide all the music and entertainment!

Clearly mark all items with the camper's name. Trout Creek cannot take responsibility for lost or stolen items.

Spending Money

Though not necessary for an enjoyable week, most campers bring an average of $20-$25 for spending money each week. Spending money can be used in our Camp Store which offers camp shirts, sweatshirts, souvenirs, film, stamps, stationery, and personal items. Money can also be used to buy afternoon refreshments in the Snak Shak and crafts in the Craft Room. Additional fees are also charged for Rocket Club ($7-14), Paintball ($4), and Horse Trail Rides ($4) if a camper desires to participate in those activities.

Jr. High 1 & 4 Optional Raft Trip

The one-day river run down the Deschutes River is available during Jr. High 1 camp (June 23-June 28) or Jr. High 4 camp (August 11-August 16). This optional activity is a joint venture with Discovery Outfitters, with an additional cost of $75 (due with deposit).

PLEASE NOTE: All rafting participants must fill out the Medical Form and the Permission / Waiver Form in addition to the standard Trout Creek registration form.

Rock n' Raft

Rock n' Raft is a unique Sr. High camp experience running 3p.m. Monday, July 14, to 4p.m. Friday, July 18. This camp is highlighted with four days of rafting the Deschutes River through a joint venture with Discovery Outfitters. Different from our other camps, transportation to and from Trout Creek is not available for Rock n' Raft. All transportation to and from the river and the necessary equipment is provided once you have arrived at Trout Creek.
