Just the awesome dramatic full-camp responses are worship night and final chapel messages. Love seeing the turns and the wave of impact made in the room all at once.
How has your life been transformed by working at camp?
My life has been so transformed by camp. There is so many examples I can’t even begin. Let me just say one thing. My faith has been growing so much when I started working at camp. And the main thing with that is learning to trust And the main thing with that is learning to full trust in the Lord.
What has God been saying to you lately?
To not be anxious about anything and to let Him lead me in His ways when I don’t understand them.
What is a Bible verse that you keep going back to lately? What is it teaching you?
Genesis 50:21a…. “‘No, don’t be afraid. I will continue to take care of you and your children.’”
Joseph is reminding his brothers that even in times that the Devil, enemies, and others meant to use for evil, God uses for good. So, in this time of craziness and turmoil, we know that God is working in His mysterious ways, so we don’t need to fear.
What has God been teaching you lately?
The importance of family, friends, and community. This school year, I learned a lot especially from the time surrounding a student’s tragic death in a car accident… That incident taught me so much this year about the value of friendship. Although I did not know him when he was alive, I heard many great things about him and his wit, his charm, and his kindness. I wish that I could have known him. I wish he could have seen the entire school band together to celebrate you and to mourn together. I’ve never seen anything like it. Unprecedented. I loved driving by the flowers they set up for him in the parking lot, and thinking about all the people that I care about the most and how I can love on them. I hope that I can know to never take anything for granted, especially after the accident this year. Anyways, this quarantine has also showed the importance of people in my life and how God works through them. I can’t wait until days at camp where I can pour into others and get them excited for God!
What is one embarrassing camp moment that you've experienced?
Embarrassing camp moment? I threw away my disposable camera my first year at camp because I forgot how they worked ?
What is one of the funniest things that has happened to you at camp?
I was leading the camp in the Team Comp Scores song and the piano completely collapsed underneath it as Little Joe and Nerf just stood there in disbelief. I just danced around the stage and everybody loved it.
What is your favorite place at TCBC? Why?
Definitely TC Falls. Love the serenity and the calm. Love having Bible study there and just being in nature away from all else.
What staff member has had the biggest impact on you at TCBC?
Biggest impact? Fidgit and Little Joe probably. Fidgit was one of the main reasons I came back to camp a second time, and he’s always been super supportive. Joe has constantly supported me and has been pushing me to finally get on staff for the summer!
