Q & A

How old are you?

16

Did you go to TCBC as a camper? If so, how many years?

Yes, I did … either 9 or 10 years!

How did you hear about TCBC?

One day my Mom asked if I wanted to go to. camp with a friend … little did I know that it would be the highlight of my summer for ten more years.

How did you decide on your camp name?

I was in a play and I was cast as Prince Charming. I was originally just going to do “Prince” but after a little convincing at the first staff meeting during In-Camp-Training, I decided to be “Prince Charming” and now most staff call me “PC”.

Do you ever wish people called you by your camp name outside of camp?

Honestly, that would be kind of cool.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was younger I always wanted to make pizza! But now I’m not sure … there are so many options. Voice acting would be fun though!

If you were stranded on an island and had to pick 3 TCBC staff members to rescue you, who would it be and why?

Slightly – He has been my friend since kindergarten and he is awesome.

Blaize – Over the summer we hung out a lot and had some great times talking about random stuff.

Apollo – Apollo is a hilarious guy. We share a love for memes and agree on a lot of things. I also had some fun, deep conversations with that dude.

What are some of your favorite things about TCBC?

I absolutely love the Zip Line and the food.

But just being at camp gives me a feeling of joy and in many ways is like a second home to me.

What are some awesome ways God has moved at camp that you've seen or been a part of?

It makes me really happy when I see campers singing with tears of joy in their eyes during worship night.

How has your life been transformed by working at camp?

I now know that I don’t need to be the “Number 1” staff member … I just need to be the person God wants me to be and not focus on who I want to be.

What has God been teaching you lately?

A couple months ago Little Joe taught at a chapel at my school and he talked about what makes someone great. He said what makes someone great is their servant’s heart and their ability and willingness to serve.

What is a Bible verse that you keep going back to lately? What is it teaching you?

Phil. 2:3 – Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but rather, in humility, value others more than yourselves.

What is one of the funniest things that has happened to you at camp?

One day I got to clean up puke in the bathroom and then found a toilet that was overflowing — it wasn’t funny in the moment but looking back on it, it was pretty funny. I cleaned it up with Apollo.

Apollo, Chuud, and I hid an “oversized load” sign in the back 40 one day.
