Emily grew up in California and graduated from The Master’s University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science. In 1997 she joined the Student Life Staff at The Master’s as the Resident Director of Hotchkiss Dorm, serving there until 2003. During that time, she also spent 5 summers working at Island Lake Camp in Poulsbo, Washington, as a Camp Counselor, Trailbike Instructor, and the head of the Trailbike Program. In the summer of 2003, she joined SAMBICA (Sammamish Bible Camp) as the Daycamp Director and, in the fall, took on the role of Program Director. Emily married Dave in 2004 while serving as Program Director until the fall of 2005 while pregnant with their first child.

For the last 17 years, she’s been a full-time mom and assistant to her husband as they run several businesses together. Emily and Dave have three kids. Her eldest, Grace (Queso), is 17 and is looking forward to serving at TCBC for the 3rd time this summer. Her middle, Jack, is 15 and will serve for the first time this summer on Crew! Her youngest, Ronin, is almost 12 and will be living the life as an only child this summer.

Just recently, in 2021, Emily stepped back into the workforce as a substitute teacher at her kids’ school, Northwest Christian Academy in Olympia, Washington. Emily enjoys running, hiking with her family and dogs, riding motorcycles, and watching her kids play various sports and activities. She also spends lots of time driving her kids around to their activities and sits in the car quite a lot (LOL). Some of Emily’s favorite things about ministry is working with kids, teens, and college students, organizing programs and events, and mentoring and discipling young women.

During her years as a wife and parent, Emily has found that the job of parenting brings many joys and many hardships as well. God’s call as a wife and a mom is amazing and refining, sometimes difficult, but always a blessing from the Lord!
